  • Dr. Jim Abernathy is the co-owner of Valor Medical Group, bringing over 30 years of military and civilian medical experience across multiple disciplines. His extensive background includes roles as a combat medic, civilian and military flight paramedic, Aeromedical Physician Assistant, U.S. Army Battalion Surgeon, Battalion Flight Surgeon, and Senior Flight Surgeon.

    Dr. Abernathy earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Carson-Newman University, followed by a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the Interservice Physician Assistant Program. He later obtained his Doctor of Medicine from James H. Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University.

    He completed an internship in General Surgery at East Tennessee State University and a Family Medicine Residency at the University of Tennessee-Jackson, where he served as chief resident and received the prestigious Dr. Rush Shellabarger Resident of the Year Award.

    Board-certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Abernathy has been deployed in support of Operation Noble Eagle and Operation Iraqi Freedom, earning numerous military decorations. His expertise spans hospital medicine, acute care, primary care, on-site clinical care, event medicine, telemedicine, pre-hospital care, and aviation medicine, ensuring exceptional medical support across diverse settings.

  • Mallie Trent is a Registered Nurse providing injections at the Morristown Valor Medical location. She received her Bachelors in the Science of Nursing from Tennessee Technological University. Mallie is also a certified Nurse Injector for botox and dermal fillers through Empire Medical Training. After graduation, she began working in the inpatient setting as a critical care nurse where she’s gained invaluable experience in patient care, attention to detail, and clinical precision. She has dedicated herself to gaining knowledge within the aesthetic field and is very passionate about enhancing natural beauty and improving overall wellness.
